Plugin FAQ
Does the plugin send my images to an external server?
No. All compression and conversion runs on your own WordPress server with Imagick or GD. There are no API keys and no tracking, and no external requests unless you opt in to adding your image count to our public counter.
Does it convert images to WebP?
Yes. New uploads are converted to WebP by default — or AVIF or JPEG if you prefer, or you can keep the original format. Conversion only happens when the result is smaller, and WebP/AVIF keep transparency.
What about images I uploaded before installing it?
Go to Settings → Image Compressor and click "Compress existing images". Existing images are compressed but keep their format, so links in your existing posts keep working.
Where do I see how much was saved?
Open any image in the Media Library to see its savings, or switch the Media Library to list view for a Compression column. Settings → Image Compressor shows the total saved.
