# Converters
Convert WebP to JPG for apps that don’t support WebP
Many websites now serve images as WebP, so “Save image as” often gives you a .webp file. Older photo editors, office documents, print shops and many government or job-portal upload forms still only accept JPG.
This tool decodes the WebP and re-encodes it as a high-quality JPG using MozJPEG. Transparent areas are filled with white, since JPG has no transparency. Everything happens on your device.

# FAQ
WebP to JPG: common questions
Why are images saved as WebP instead of JPG?
Websites serve WebP because it loads faster. Your browser saves the file in whatever format the site delivered, which is increasingly WebP.
What happens to transparency when converting WebP to JPG?
JPG does not support transparency, so transparent areas become white. If you need to keep transparency, convert WebP to PNG instead.
Does converting WebP to JPG reduce quality?
JPG is lossy, but at the default quality of 82 the result is visually identical for photos. Raise the slider to 90+ if you plan to edit or print the image.
Can I convert animated WebP to JPG?
JPG is a still-image format, so only the first frame of an animated WebP is kept.
